Talking to People

It can be helpful to share the feelings of frustration that may arise from your cancer experience with someone supportive in your life.  You may find that putting your feelings in to words can make situations easier to deal with.

You may find that it helps letting people know how you are doing, or what you need.  You can download the 'Asking for what you need' card below, that you can give to the important people in your life to let them know what you would like from them.  You can also download the 'time alone card' that you can give to people, if you would like some time alone with someone at the hospital to ask questions.   

If you want to talk to someone that you don’t know, you could visit the Cancer Information and Support Centre and speak to one of the trained volunteers.  There also a number of organisations that offer support - follow the services link below.
