Physical Wellbeing

Physical wellbeing is about how your body is dealing with everything that’s happening to you.

This includes things like:

  • Your level of physical activity or exercise
  • Your energy levels
  • Your appetite, your diet and your weight
  • How well you are sleeping
  • How well your brain is functioning eg concentration levels and memory
  • Whether you have any pain or discomfort in your body

Because our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health are all linked, it may be that the issues above have a large psychological or emotional element too. For example, when we feel low, it can be more difficult to feel motivated to exercise, and if we feel anxious or stressed, that can affect how well we sleep.

So this Physical Wellbeing IAM domain links in strongly with many of the other IAM domains, especially ‘thoughts and feelings’.
